Health doesn't have to be one of the costs of a long commute
For 15 years, April has been commuting from Southern New Hampshire to Brighton for work. Spending three to four hours a day in her car left her feeling stiff and sluggish. With the encouragement of a coworker, four years ago, April joined Mount Auburn Club. Today, she is happy she put her health in the driver's seat. April went from feeling like her body was "rotting," to having a life-changing experience.
April consistently wakes up at 5 a.m. so she can get in a body pump class or swim before work. The follow-up cold shower "is invigorating." Thanks to this routine, April has decreased her overall body stiffness; giving her a feeling of lightness to both body and mind.
Along with regular exercise, April is committed to eating better. Every 4 to 5 months, she meets with MAC Registered Dietitian Jen Jasmin. Through the sessions with Jen, April has gained new knowledge and awareness that has changed what and how she eats. In addition, April says Jen shares great recipes, which has kept her motivated to try new meals.
April is paying it forward; inspiring her coworkers to exercise and eat better and now she wants to do the same for the MAC community!
