Derek Casinghino

Derek graduated from Westfield State College with a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Health and Fitness. He was a member of the men's varsity soccer team for all four years and in his fourth year was captain as well as First Team All Conference. Derek is certified by ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) as a Health and Fitness Instructor and also by AFAA (Aerobic and Fitness Association of America) as a personal trainer. He has experience working as head fitness trainer and manager of Universal Health and Fitness in Northampton, MA. Derek loves sharing his knowledge and through his passion for Fitness, he continues to motivate and help many people achieve their goals.
Patrick Goncalves
Patrick was born in South Africa, and grew up in the Boston area, where he started playing baseball and football. His ongoing passion for sports inspired him to work in the fitness industry. In 2001 he began working as a trainer and he has helped to educate and motivate many people. As a certified trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Patrick is able to assess and administer corrective training for muscle imbalances. His athletic background has also led him to realize the benefits of Olympic lifts, which he has used in training many of his clients. Patrick’s certification as boxing instructor through the International Strength and Conditioning Association (ISCA) has provided Patrick with the experience needed to train in a group setting. He has taught classes such as boxing, sports circuit and abs. Patrick enjoys working with a diverse group of clientele and he strives to provide a fun, knowledgeable and safe experience to everyone he encounters.
Rebecca Aldrich
Rebecca grew up in Winchester, MA where she ran cross-country and track for four years. She attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she continued her running career and helped her cross-country team win two consecutive Atlantic-10 Championships. Rebecca graduated in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. As part of her graduation requirement she completed an honors thesis project on the cause of stress fractures in female distance runners. After college, Rebecca worked as an exercise physiologist in Cambridge, before joining the Air Force in 2003. While in the Air Force Rebecca lead her squadron’s physical training program. She completed her debut half-marathon in 2005, and was also a member of the Air Force women’s cross-country team in 2006. Having been a long time runner, Rebecca has experience in dealing with injury and has learned the importance of proper nutrition, and cross-training. She welcomes the opportunity to work with people of all abilities and looks forward to motivating you towards your next fitness goal!

Kate Tebbets

Kate moved to Boston from Stonington, Connecticut where she has lived all her life. She became interested in the fitness field while attending Stonington high school where she ran track, indoor track, cross-country, and was also a cheerleader. She continued running recreationally at the University of Rhode Island and trained for the Boston marathon. Kate graduated from the University of Rhode Island in December 2003 with a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science specializing in Fitness and Wellness. Her internships while attending college included: working in a cardiovascular rehabilitation facility, personal training and managing an all woman's gym, and working in a Chiropractic center as an exercise therapist where she was in charge of the rehabilitation of patients. Kate is ACSM certified and has had extensive experience working with a variety of people. She believes that with hard work and determination goals can and will be accomplished!

Maureen Chagnon Nee

Maureeen joined the Mount Auburn Club in 1997. She has been involved in group exercise since 1990, when she received her first Aqua Aerobics Certification. She now holds certifications from Aquatic Exercise Association, Johnny G's Spinning Program, Cycle Reebok, Body Pump and Promise Enterprises for Box Aerobics. She works full time in a sales management function, and although she teaches group exercise on a part time basis, Maureen enjoys this part of her career immensely. She is a high energy, upbeat person, even for her early morning classes! Maureen lives in Arlington, with her husband Tom and her two sons.
Lisa Lyons

Lisa has a BS in Exercise Science and received a degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant from Lasell College. She is AFAA certified and has over eight years of experience in the fitness field. She has been part of the Mount Auburn Club since 1997. She enjoys working with people of all fitness levels. Lisa teaches step and muscle sculpting and enjoys rollerblading, baking and travel. Lisa is also part of the Fitness Team at the Mount Auburn Club.
Melissa Huntington

Melissa, originally from Norwich, CT, moved to the Boston area to attend college. While studying psychology at Newbury College and playing soccer and softball, Melissa became very interested in holistic healthcare and alternative medicine and decided to pursue these areas professionally. She graduated from the Bancroft School of Massage Therapy in Worcester, MA in 1998 and quickly became confident performing many different modalities but especially excelled in deep tissue/sports massage. Melissa has worked with many athletes including the U.S. Kickboxing teams, Gravity Games athletes, and the New York Giants. Her work has enabled her to live in places such as London and Rio de Janeiro, as well as on a cruise ship. While Melissa's breadth of experience as a massage therapist brought many of her clients out of physical crisis, she realized massage combined with strength training and improved nutrition would be even more beneficial. She returned to Boston in 2005 to focus on her career as a personal trainer. Melissa's passion is empowering people of all ages and levels of ability to reach their personal best and to live fully in body, mind, and spirit.
Joe McCormack
Joe, a Certified Fitness Professional through the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA), is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. He was named Captain of every team he has ever played for because of his high energy, leadership skills, and his ability to push others to perform at their best. As Captain of the UMass, Amherst track and field team he was ranked #2 in New England in the 55 meter and 100 meter dash.  Joe also played semi-pro football and motivated his teammates to meet during the off-season for a conditioning program that he developed. Joe's specialty is motivating clients to work hard and focus on giving their best efforts each and every workout.  He loves teaching safe and proper form on exercises, has experience working with clients of all ages, and will tailor each workout to an individuals needs and ability levels.  He also has experience working with criminals because he completed an internship as a Corrections Officer at the Hampshire County Jail in Hampshire, MA.  So if you better think twice about getting out of line with your diet!

Kristen Francesconi
Kristen grew up in Revere, MA where she was involved in soccer, softball, and dance.  She graduated from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT in 2003 with a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science and Human Movement.  Some of her internships while attending school included assisting nurses and doctors at a cardiac rehabilitation facility, implementing exercise prescriptions for special populations, and working as a rehab aid in an orthopedic physical therapy clinic.  Kristen has experience with providing individuals with safe, effective fitness routines and instructing a variety of group exercise classes.  She enjoys working with people of all fitness levels and strives to motivate and encourage you towards accomplishing your goals.  Kristen believes that exercise should be an enjoyable experience that inspires you toward a healthy, rewarding lifestyle!

Hanna Bruno
Hanna rejoins the MAC after a 3-year hiatus parenting and implementing physical activity and nutrition education programs in the Somerville Public Schools.  She grew up in Belmont via New York.  Hanna has an undergraduate degree in biology from Williams College where she was a four year varsity Track and Field athlete.  She is currently finishing her doctoral degree from Boston University in Movement and Performance.  Hanna has previous work experience in physical therapy and is a long time cross country and track and field coach. She has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from National Strength and Conditioning Association since 1998.
Jeff Rowe
Jeff grew up in Great Bend, KS where his passion in the fitness industry began. During high school he played varsity baseball and football for four years. After high school, he went on to play collegiate baseball at Brown Mackie College in Salina, KS, graduating with an Associates degree in Business.  Jeff transferred to Kansas State University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, while teaching weightlifting and fitness conditioning classes.  From his employment at a YMCA, Jeff learned that he derived great satisfaction from working with a diverse group of people of all different ages. Jeff believes that you can accomplish any attainable goal if you can keep four words in mind: Perseverance, Persistence, Progression, and Passion. As a personal trainer, Jeff strives to educate, motivate, and build strong relationships with his clients to help them achieve their goal to live a healthier lifestyle.
