The body uses different proportions of fuel at different levels of exertion. For example, training at low heart rates means more fat is being utilized for fuel and training at high heart rates means more carbohydrates are being used. With training over time your heart becomes stronger, pumps more blood and ultimately you heart rate zones shift accordingly. This is one reason we encourage training in all the heart rate zones. Your heart is a muscle. Like any other muscle, if you train the same way day in and day out, you eventually plateau or lose fitness and potentially get injured. Variety and consistency are key.

Pre-registration is required for all Spin classes to reserve a bike.
Heart rate monitors are recommended.

Remember... Spinners need to follow a training pattern of hard/easy workouts. By giving the body a low stress day after a high stress day, "getting in shape" can take place with little risk of injuries or illness associated with overtraining.
