Tennis Start SMART Program
4 Weeks Individual and Group Training

Four complete hands-on wellness programs to choose from geared to GET RESULTS. Every hour is led by a Professionally Certified Instructor, either in a one-on-one or group setting, starting with a thorough evaluation to ensure success and a positive experience in all facets of the program experience utilizing Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-bound goals.

To better serve you and ensure personalized attention, each SMART program group session will have a limited capacity. In order to accommodate all of our Mount Auburn Club members and gift recipients, the SMART gift program will be available throughout 2009. Once you contact us, we will work with you to schedule an available program start date convenient for you.

PROGRAM DETAILS

Start SMART Introduction

  • You will meet privately with a Fitness Coach (click on link to see biographies) certified by a nationally accredited organization to review your medical history, set SMART goals and perform a comprehensive assessment (including balance, functional strength and stability, core strength, flexibility, and more) to establish your baseline fitness level specific to tennis.
  • An optional New Leaf Metabolic Test can be performed to identify your unique metabolic profile. This will allow your Certified Fitness Coach to develop a successful customized exercise training plan covering proper intensity and duration, as well as insight into nutritional choices to improve your health.
  • A one-on-one tennis evaluation and video analysis with a USTA (United States Tennis Association) Certified Tennis Pro (click on link to see biographies) to determine your USTA rating.
  • A private tennis lesson with a USTA Certified Tennis Pro.
  • Depending on your tennis rating over the next 3 weeks you will participate in USTA Certified Tennis Pro led instruction including:

    Beginner to Low Intermediate

    1.0-2.5+ USTA rating

    • 3 Skills and Drills Lessons – participate in group drills for different singles and doubles strategy, movement, and shot making situations.
    • 2 Ball Machine Lessons – participate in a variety of group drills and learn how to program different patterns and directions to help your game.
    • 2 Cardio Tennis Sessions – an action packed on court group workout geared to improve your agility, footwork, and fitness level with variety of movement and drills.
    • 3 Learn to Play Sessions – group lessons covering the basics of the game of tennis and to develop the various tennis strokes.

    OR

    Intermediate to Advanced

    3.0-4.5+ USTA rating

    • 3 Competitive Edge Clinics – participate in group drills for different singles and doubles strategy, movement, and shot making at a competitive level.
    • 3 Mix and Match Play Sessions – a round robin with players of similar levels for an hour of doubles play for 20 minute timed periods.
    • 3 Cardio Tennis Sessions – an action packed on court group workout geared to improve your agility, footwork, and fitness level with variety of movement and drills.
    • Mental Strategy and Toughness Session – learn how to master the sport psychology aspects of the game with these mental techniques.
  • Participate in our optional weekly Healthy Habits Interactive Educational Series on topics such as Motivation, Stress, Weight Management, and more.
