I was born and raised in Italy. At the age of five, I was bedridden for months and unable to walk, but finally recovered. I loved physical activity, and I pursued sports such as soccer, volleyball, boxing, horseback riding, skiing, tennis, and swimming. I still enjoy many of these activities. But a severely herniated disc caused pain throughout my life, and limited how much I could do.
When I moved to the United States, I had the opportunity to extend my formal training and deepen my knowledge and passion for fitness, yoga, and Pilates.
Over twenty years of fitness work, I realized that these disciplines are largely based on a sequence of exercises or poses that promote rigidity. I could find little information about why a person should hold a pose or repeat a motion so many times.
AFS has made me healthier and a better trainer. I am better able to handle and prevent my own relapses, and I am excited to share AFS with the MAC community. I’m confident I can help my clients decrease pain, improve fitness, and enjoy favorite activities.NASM: Certified Personal Trainer National Academy of Sports Medicine – PENDING

"I have known Sergio for four years now. I have always had trouble running and working out because of especially bad feet that caused me pain and limited both my desire and ability to exercise. When I first met Sergio we took some time before my first workout and talked about the issues I have had and the types of exercise I was used to. Through a program that Sergio designed that emphasized stretching and light weight training I have gained both flexibility and strength. Over time, the workouts became more challenging and my flexibility and form improved. Now, in addition to workouts with Sergio, I am able to run again with only very limited amounts of pain. Sergio is a patient and thoughtful trainer, but also knows when you are ready to push to another level. I would confidently recommend him to others." - Jane
